Holiday drama workshops for preschoolers by ACT 3 Drama Academy.

ACT 3 Drama Academy will be organizing special workshops for preschoolers during the September term break.  The two-hour workshops, held over three days from 5-7 September or 6-8 September, is designed to introduce three to six year-olds to the fun and excitement of performing the well-loved fairy tale of The Three Bears to a small and appreciative audiences.

“Parents frequently ask us whether Drama courses will benefit their children.  This is a quick and easy way to find out,” said Ruby Lim-Yang, artistic director of ACT 3 International.  “This short holiday course exposes participants to various elements of performance.  At the same time, the children have fun learning through play and effortlessly pick up skills such as good speech, play-acting and storytelling as well as teamwork.  There is a mini presentation for parents at the end of the course where the children show off their new skills and confidence.  Parents will be able to gauge the benefits almost immediately.”

Each class holds a maximum of 15 children of similar ages.  Experienced drama teachers take participants through a journey that allows them to explore their imagination, invent ideas and express their thoughts and feelings effectively.  The children learn Mime, Role Play and the story components of Beginning, Middle and End along the way.  All these are carried out within a tried-and-tested framework of fun that appeals to preschoolers.

                                         6 to 8 September 2005 (Tuesday to Thursday)

                                         9:30am to 11:30am

Presentation Dates:   7 September 2005 for session 1 and

                                  8 September 2005 for session 2

Presentation Times:  6:30pm for 3- to 4-year olds

                                  7:45pm for 5- to 6-year olds
