Rationale: Singaporeans assembling parts of the SAR 21 Rifle together. With co-operation, the assembly is completed. Everyone has a part in assembling the rifle; everyone has a part in our nation’s defence.

Rationale: Every Singaporean can be a part of national defence simply by raising his/her vigilance towards the surroundings and by being alert to any possible threats to the country. Besides being physically fit, we should be mentally prepared in terms of defence related knowledge. Therefore national defence is not only the duty of the NS men, but also that of all Singaporeans, young and old alike.
