The Singapore Real Estate Online has been renamed PropertyBuyer.com and has a new website address - www.propertybuyer.com. This website puts potential buyers/renters of properties with sellers/owners. Its plus points are: 1. You can key in your criteria for the property you are seeking and the system matches what you want with what's available in their database 2. An indicative valuation is shown so you know whether what you are asked to pay is reasonable or not 3. It doesn't charge you a cent at all if it can't refer you to a prospective seller/owner. 4. It has well-known developers, such as Far East Organisation, Wing Tai and First Capital Corporation holding shares, so you can expect it to come out with exclusive property listings from these companies. However, I did some searching on the website and came away disappointed for the following reasons: 1. As a buyer/renter, I just cannot browse through details of properties available. I need to key in my wishlist- minimum/maximum price, preferred location, ideal built-in area, etc. before the system can get me information at all. 2. Even then, if the system can't match my wishlist with a piece of property available, it just tells me " sorry " and I am back to square one. 3. I tried searching for rental properties in the Tanglin category on their website, but no matter what criteria I keyed in , the system just came up with " sorry ". It probably means they are a little thin on such listings. I have better luck looking through other websites for rental properties that are available. All things said, it's still new, having been launched just yesterday. I am sure it will do very well. Click PropertyBuyer.com
