Chingay 2005 will offer everybody
an exciting one-hour “Everybody’s Street Party” comprising cool percussion
pieces and exciting body grooves for all audiences, including the longest
Chingay Wave, for all standing and seated, young and old. |

The young and young-at-heart are
invited to re-live their dreams of partying in a big street party in the heart
of Orchard Road. Everybody is involved. Street party is free. |

President Chingay Floats

For the first time, local and
international commercial companies will be showing their dreams through a
spectacular line-up of floats parading down Orchard Road in the President
Chingay Floats segment during the parade on both days. |

On Saturday, 19 February 2005,
this spectacular floats segment will parade its way all the way from Orchard
Road right up to Chinatown, making it the longest float parade in terms of
road miles covered. The floats segment is likely to end in Chinatown near/past
midnight. |

3600 Seconds Saturday Night

Re-live Saturday Night Fever when
the streets of Orchard Road is transformed into a discotheque with a count-up
of one to 3600 Seconds (or one hour) of Saturday Night Disco Fever exclusively
on Saturday, 19 February 2005. |

Floats Parades: |
|
There will be at least four floats
parades over three weekends from 19 February to 5 March 2005. |
|
The Chingay has grown to become
one of the grandest street and floats parade in the region. Our dream is to be
the world’s prettiest and largest floats parade for its beauty, diversity, and
distance traveled to all major sectors of Singapore life. |
|
At the end of each floats parade,
audiences can dance, snap pictures and videos, and party on with the wonderful
events of the local party organizers hosting the final destination points of
the floats parades. |
