Singapore Arts Festival 2007:
Early Bird Sales Start This Week |

Featuring internationally acclaimed artists
from over 20 countries, the 30th anniversary edition of the Singapore
Arts Festival offers experiences that will move your hearts, open your
minds, lift your spirits and reinvigorate your senses. |
|

Performing Arts and Director for Singapore Arts Festival, NAC, "From
breathtaking dance to the re-imagining of theatre and music, the 2007
programme continues to favour artistic innovation, building on the
Festival¡¯s reputation for progressiveness and excellence, and reflecting
the Festival¡¯s role as a catalysing force in Singapore¡¯s arts
development over the last three decades." |

Ticket sales will begin from 1 March
2007 through SISTIC with a range of early bird discounts. Patrons
are encouraged to pick the best seats for the Festival¡¯s showcase
of 22 exciting music, dance and theatre productions, and savour
the Festival experience. |
|
Special Discount Packages |
|
This year¡¯s bundling packages will
continue to provide audiences with a range of choices to give them
the most value for money. During the Early Bird sales, patrons
will enjoy 10% discount for any single purchase of tickets to one
or two productions. |
|
For the more adventurous who wish to
experience a wider variety of quality arts performances, a 15%
discount is available for any single purchase of tickets to three
or four productions, and 20% for five or more productions. |
|
After the Early Bird period, from 16
April 2007 till the end of the Festival, discounts will be reduced
to 10% for any single purchase to three or four productions, and
15% for five or more productions. |
|
To encourage more people to enjoy the
shows together with their friends and families, this year¡¯s
Festival also offers a 15% discount for bulk purchases of 10
tickets or more to a minimum of two productions. This offer
continues after the Early Bird period. |
|
Programme Highlights |
|
The stellar line-up in contemporary
dance includes celebrated ballerina Sylvie Guillem who stars in
Akram Khan¡¯s Sacred Monsters (France/UK); the acclaimed Bill T
Jones and Arnie Zane Dance Company (USA); Japanese Dance Critics¡¯
Association Award winner Saburo Teshigawara and his company KARAS
(Japan). |

Revisit some of theatre¡¯s most
influential texts with legendary theatre master Lee Breuer¡¯s Mabou
Mines (USA), the prestigious Beijing People¡¯s Arts Theatre
(China), and the award-winning OKT/Vilnius City Theatre
(Lithuania). |
|
In programmes which invite the
listener to ¡®see¡¯ the music, this year¡¯s music productions
features creations by the Scottish music theatre company Theatre
Cryptic and the T¡¯ang Quartet (UK/Singapore); the Oscar-winning
composer Tan Dun with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra
(China/Japan/Singapore); and a symphonic performance of award
winning video game music by the new Singapore Festival Orchestra
under the baton of the Grammy Award-winning conductor Arnie Roth
(USA/Singapore). |

In commissioning new and exciting
work, the Festival continues to champion Singapore talent such as
The Finger Players, Checkpoint Theatre, as well as Mark Chan and
The ARTS FISSION Company. |
|
It also profiles an emerging
generation of Singapore arts talent such as theatre makers Peter
Sau and Young Artist Award recipient Li Xie, local choreographers
Ricky Sim, Joanne Lee and Daniel Kok, as well as young pianist
Abigail Sin and violinist Loh Jun Hong with the Singapore Festival
Orchestra. |
