CAAS launches microsite for
travellers to experience Changi Airport's Terminal 3 |
|
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS)
has launched a dedicated microsite1 for Changi Airport's Terminal 3 or
T3 to provide visitors the opportunity to explore Changi's newest and
largest terminal from anywhere in the world. |
Themed "Explore Paradise", the microsite is
an interactive one-stop link for visitors to intimately discover T3
through virtual tours, fun downloads, visuals and contests. Visitors can
also obtain informative details of the new terminal from the microsite. |
"The T3 microsite was created to give
visitors a special insight and preview of T3 before it officially opens
on 9 January 2008. It provides an aesthetically pleasing and interactive
platform to engage visitors with the T3 experience and showcase the
various unique aspects of this new landmark terminal. With T3, we look
forward to bringing our airport experience to a new level," said Mr Lim
Kim Choon, Director-General & Chief Executive Officer, CAAS. |
The microsite will allow visitors to
experience T3 both visually and experientially. Visitors of the
user-friendly site can embark on a virtual tour of T3. |
A noteworthy feature is the manner in which
the virtual tour is presented to the visitor. It is customised to the
visitor's preference and level of interest along five parameters -
Architecture & Interior, Luxury & Relaxation, Eating, Drinking &
Shopping, Business Travel and finally Fun & Leisure. |
Through this journey, visitors will gain a
deeper understanding of the intricate details and design thoughts that
went into the construction and design of the terminal. |
A downloadable item that will be a sure hit
is a desktop wall paper relating to T3's unique roof architecture. |
The wall paper is a visual of the sky
through T3's roof which consists of skylights that automatically adjust
to let in an optimal amount of soft and uniform daylight into the
terminal. The colour of the sky will change according to the time of
day. Through this, users will be able to experience the simulation of
the unique daylight control mechanism on the roof of T3. |
Besides these interactive elements, visitors
can access a gallery of visuals and fact sheet on T3. Visitors are also
encouraged to submit their own Changi Airport stories to the T3
microsite. |
Fortnightly draws will be conducted and the
winning entry each fortnight will stand a chance to win an Ipod Nano
(2GB). All winning entries will be posted on the microsite. |
The T3 microsite can be accessed directly at
www.changiairport.com/t3
or via Changi Airport’s main website (www.changiairport.com). |
Note : 1 - A microsite is a separately
promoted and often temporary auxiliary website that is part of a larger
site but has a separate URL. |
