Founded in 1899 by Dr LIM Boon Keng & Sir SONG Ong Siang.

Began with seven female students who were first accommodated in a rented portion of a bungalow in Beach Road.

Moved to its own school building at rented premises at the junction of Hill Street and Coleman Street in 1909.

Moved to Emerald Hill Road.

Moved to Dunearn Road in June 1994.
