The
Community Arts Life Programme (CLAP) and ArtReach are presenting The Stage
Is Yours! at Toa Payoh Town Centre Amphitheatre on Saturday 4 Sep 2004
from 5.30pm to 7.00pm. Admission is free and all are welcome.
|
|
A series of 4 performances, The
Stage is Yours!, aims to motivate and inspire the practice of arts at the
community level, and provides a platform for amateur groups and individuals to
perform in public.
|
|
Starting off the evening on a loud
note is modern power-pop band SkiVe with their original compositions. Later in
the evening, meet Morphy – a band that promotes their brand of lyrical rock
and ranks equally high on creativity and quirkiness.
|
|
Besides showcasing creativity in
music, dance groups Riverz and 2FFTOers will also display their imagination
and energy through hip-hop and contemporary dance respectively.
|
|
In addition, The Stage Is Yours!
fuses modern and traditional art forms. Unleashing a unique “Dragon Head
Monochord Zither”, the Kebun Baru Arts Troupe will bring us classical
Chinese tunes on this string instrument for the very first time.
|
|
Also sharing the stage:
established local singer Cai Lilian. Accompanied by her band, Lilian will sing
familiar tunes like Guan Huai Fang Shi in totally new styles, offering
audiences a breath of fresh air.

For a truly homegrown concert
hosted by local singer-songwriter Sean Wong, join us at The Stage is Yours!
