Singapore Cable Car (Pte) Ltd announced on 4 Jun
2005 that it has interrupted its cable car service due to inconsistencies
observed in one of the cables during a recent scheduled maintenance and safety
check. |
Ms. Susan Teh, CEO of Singapore Cable Car said,
"This decision made by the management to temporarily interrupt our cable car
service demonstrates our absolute commitment to our passengers' safety, which
is not negotiable.¡± |
Cable car specialists and the rope suppliers from
France did a thorough and detailed inspection using specialised equipment and
since 1 June 2005, the management has decided to interrupt the cable car
service until further notice. This is in the interest of our passengers¡¯
safety as it is our corporate policy to place customer safety as top priority. |
The duration of the interruption will depend on
the recommendations by the cable car specialists and rope suppliers, after all
relevant tests and inspections are completed and the results known. |
The company regrets any inconveniences caused to
all our travel agents, business partners and guests during this period and we
will do our best to resume the cable car service without any compromise to our
high safety standards. We will make the appropriate announcements to update
our customers on the status when possible. |
