About 1,300 alumni from all over the world
are expected to attend the homecoming event and a unique medley of
performances has been choreographed by alumni, students and staff for
the night. |
Alumni can also look forward to reliving
their fond memories on campus as special arrangements have been made for
them to visit their favourite haunts, such as Yunnan Garden, the former
Nanyang University Administration Building, and the halls of residence. |
Each Nanyang Awards recipient will receive a
specially commissioned Trophy and a Certificate of Commendation. |
The Trophies were designed by Professor
Isaac Kerlow, Dean of NTU¨s new School of Art, Design and Media. The
design incorporates the elements of nature and embodies an admiration
for and appreciation of ancient Chinese art, particularly, bronze
artefacts and classic jade. Although shaped like a jade tablet (合), it
is also reminiscent of the obelisk, a monumental sculptural form
commonly used in the West to commemorate important events. |
