¡®Ring around the rosy, pocketful of posies¡'
a multi-disciplinary exhibition by Singapore & China artists will open
at the new art space instinc, located at 271C New Bridge Road, from 9
AUG 2005 to 26 AUG 2005. |
This exhibition expresses the thoughts and
emotions of young visual artists, investigating popular culture and its
influence on youth and young adults as well as the response of youth to
media bombardment. |

The eight artists participating in this
project come from a variety of backgrounds sharing one thing in common -
the location context of Singapore. This exhibition presents the
exploration of the term ¡®culture¡¯, as well as the various ways in which
media and culture intertwines. |
Presented through paintings, silk-screen on
canvases, relief prints, comic books from wood-cut prints, T-shirts,
sculpture, installation and performance, eight artists - Aidah Dolrahim,
Cheng Guang Feng, Dan Lim, Jeremy Hiah, Lina Adam, Marienne Yang, Warren
Khong and Yeo Shih Yun - will express their thoughts on popular culture
in Singapore. |
