Two of the Republic of Singapore Air Force's
(RSAF) retired A4-SU Super Skyhawks have been donated to the French
Aeronautics Museum (Mus└e de l'Air et de l'Espace) for static display. |
A Certificate of Transfer and Acceptance
signing ceremony took place between representatives of the RSAF and the
French Aeronautics Museum at Cazaux Air Base in France on 12 Jan 2006. |
The RSAF has been using Super Skyhawks for
advanced jet training at Cazaux Air Base since 1998. |
In addition to sharing a part of the RSAF's
heritage with their French hosts, the donation is also a gesture of
appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the French Air Force
to the RSAF. |
The RSAF acquired the A4-SU Super Skyhawks
in 1974 and they were retired in March 2005 after three decades of
service. |
The RSAF has donated three other retired
Super Skyhawks to Temasek Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic and
Singapore Polytechnic for the use of their Aeronautical Engineering, and
Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering students. |
