“INSPIRASIAN – THE GALA EVENING” / 31 Oct – Island Ballroom, Shangri-La Hotel

An evening filled with glamour and entertainment, this event will bring together organisers, exhibitors and visitors for the season’s high fashion social. The first highlight of the evening is the 2nd ‘Fashion Icon Award’ which recognises the most significant icon in the Asian fashion industry. Ms Sammi Cheng, a renowned singer and actress from Hong Kong, was named the 1st Fashion Icon Award winner last year. To raise the glamour stakes, the ‘Best of Asia’s Designers’, the next highlight of the evening, will see the works of crème de la crème of the Asian fashion industry heating up the runway.

SINGAPORE FASHION DESIGNERS CONTEST (SFDC) / 1 Nov - Raffles City Shopping Centre

Presented by Raffles City Shopping Centre, SFDC is a nationwide search for the next ingénue in Singapore’s fashion industry. This contest has become a crucial platform for the career launch of up-and-coming fashion designers. Many of the finalists and winners of SFDC have either successfully established their own retail labels or, are playing key roles in fashion-related businesses. As in the past, the first and second prize winners of the SFDC will represent Singapore in the Asian Young Fashion Designers Contest (AYFDC).

ASIAN YOUNG FASHION DESIGNERS CONTEST (AYFDC) / 4 Nov - Raffles City Shopping Cet

Into its 18th year, the AYFDC, presented by Raffles City Shopping Centre, is a significant regional talent search that showcases up–and-coming talents from all over Asia. Since its inception 17 years ago, AYFDC is still the important regional talent search that has paved the way for many young fashion designers in the fashion industry. Over 12 countries designers will participate in this year’s contest.

FRESH! – THE GRADUATE SHOWCASE / 5 Nov - Raffles City Shopping Centre

Working closely with the four major design schools in Singapore – Raffles Design Institute, Temasek Polytechnic School of Design, LaSalle-SIA College of the Arts and the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts -- FRESH ! is a fashion show that showcases the best fashion graduates of the year. Collections by the fashion students from these schools will be highlighted. As an added incentive this year, the Top Graduate of the Year Award will be awarded to the most talented student designer.

Touching on various aspects of fashion, textile, business and technology, the Fashion-Tech Solutions Conference is specially designed for all the manufacturers, retailers, designers, buyers, entrepreneurs in the textile and fashion industry.

The three-day professional conference includes sessions of specialized contemporary topics impacting the global textile, apparel and fashion industry. Professional and renowned speakers from the industry will share their knowledge on business strategies, latest fashion trends, logistics solutions, product development, case study etc.

Fashion illustration is beginning to find new forms of narrative and aesthetic values. The new style of illustration is no longer a mere visual representation of fashion objects: rather, it transforms the mental worlds and fantasies embodied by those objects into images, while in turn, each new image nourishes the next fashion ephemeral. Gradually, a new landscape is taking shape in the graphic art of fashion illustration, a landscape peopled by images bordering on the contemporary arts, yet never abandoning its demanding aesthetic heritage – a development that is shaping the unique artistic world of contemporary French fashion illustration. Traits Trés Mode is a production of Association Francaise d’Action Artisque.
