The late Wu Tsai Yen was one of Singapore's foremost artists, widely acknowledged as a master in the art of finger painting. He was also instrumental in developing and promoting the art locally and internationally.

His many contributions to the local art scene include the founding of the first finger painting society in the world, the San Yi Finger Painting Society.

This memorial lecture, held today from 7pm - 8.30pm at Singapore Art Museum, will include a short introduction to the history of finger painting, the technique of finger painting and the differences between finger and brush painting.

The lecture will also trace the late artist's
immeasurable contributions to the development of finger painting in Singapore and the founding of the San Yi Finger Painting Society.

The Speakers are:

- Mdm WAN Suet Yue (Secretary of the first management committee of San Yi Finger
Painting Society)

- Mdm LIM Sue Luan (President of the
San Yi Finger Painting Society)

- Mr CHUA Soo Bin (member of the Singapore Art Museum Board)

- Mr WU Ee Lung (son of the late artist)

Admission to the lecture is free and all are welcome.
